Measuring Your Space
Room Measurements
Measure the width and depth of the space where furniture will sit. For sofas, allow at least 45cm of clearance around all sides for walkways. For beds, ensure you can open wardrobe doors and walk around the bed comfortably — aim for 60cm clearance on each side if possible.
Access Route
The most common mistake is buying furniture that won't fit through the door. Measure doorways (width and height), hallways, staircases (width and ceiling height), and any turns. For reclining sofas and corner units, measure the diagonal depth — this is often the limiting factor.
Ceiling Height & Obstacles
Staircases often have reduced headroom. Measure the ceiling height at the tightest point. Note any obstacles — light fixtures, radiators, skirting boards, and banisters. If in doubt, bring your measurements to our showroom and we'll help you choose furniture that fits.
